Four Things Friday

Yay for the weekend! Tomorrow is officially the start of fall, and I couldn’t be more excited! It’s also Gator game day, so I’ll be cheering on my beloved Gators in Gainesville this weekend. Do y’all have any big plans for the weekend?

Here are some things I’m loving…

1. If I had a little girl, I would love to frame this print and put it in her room. My grandmother used to read Eloise to me, so I’ve been in love with her for forever.

2. This is such a cool bathtub, but what do you when the water splashes all over the walls?

3. With all the bridal showers I plan, I definitely intend to use this easy DIY centerpiece idea. Cheap and easy!

4. I want to make this dip-dye art. It makes me so happy just looking at it!

Four Things Friday

Happy Friday, everyone! This has seemed like an incredibly long week, so I’m super pumped about the weekend. My best friends and I are hosting a bridal shower for our good friend, Caroline. It’ll be outside on a patio, and I can’t wait to share photos and details with you next week! It’s been a long row planning it, but I think it’s going to turn out superbly.

What are your big plans for the weekend? Make sure to check out these things I’m loving from around the Web!

1. How genius are these thrift store plate mirrors? They look like they’d be so easy to do!

2. This is such an easy way to decorate the walls in your kitchen or dining room.

3. I want to frame a series of these Women’s Wear Daily sketches by famous designers. They’d be beautiful in a bedroom or bathroom.

4. I’m not one for camping, but I think this would be a fun place to spend the weekend. It’s glamorous and comfortable.

Four Things Friday

It’s been such a long week, y’all! Though we had Labor Day off, it still felt like the week was dragging on. But no more complaining…the weekend is here! I’m going swimming with the manatees tomorrow and I can’t wait! I’m a native Floridian, but I’ve never swam with the manatees, can you believe it? Do you have any big weekend plans?

Check out this stuff that I’m loving!

1. Umm, this is genius. I would have never thought to repurpose a tire in this way. So durable!

2. I’m  co-hosting a Halloween party and I’m dying to do this to the chandelier. So creepy, but so creative!

3. Using an old dining room table as a desk. This would be the perfect place to spread out all of my design books!

4. My love for Hobby Lobby has been well-documented. While I greatly admire that they are closed on Sundays for religious purposes, I always feel I’m most inspired on Sundays and can’t put my great ideas into action because they’re closed! So this eCard made me laugh out loud.

I know I said I was going to take a break from blogging this week, but I couldn’t help myself: I had to share these great finds from around the Web with y’all!

Have  a great weekend!

1. I am dying to paint a wall in a gingham pattern! This tutorial looks pretty simple!

2. I love how this guest room looks like a train car! So fun!

3. These clever posters are perfect for a kitchen. So humorous!

4. I want to make these votives wrapped in cornhusks. They are so beautiful!

Y is for YouTube

YouTube is mostly known for spawning such video hits as “Charlie Bit Me” and “My New Hair Cut,” but it also has great videos featuring detailed, step-by-step instructions for completing home decor projects. When I was painting the chevron striped rug I made last fall, I used YouTube as a guide. I’d definitely encourage y’all to check it out whenever you need instruction (or a good laugh).

These are some of my favorite videos…

1. Chevron Rug DIY

2. Wainscoting Kit Install

3. DIY Cafe Curtains

Four Things Friday

Happy Friday, everyone! I’m off to a wedding this weekend and I can’t wait to dance my butt off! What do y’all have planned for the weekend? Take some time to look at this great stuff I’ve found around the Web…

1. I just downloaded Instagram and I’m already obsessed. This is a great idea for creating art work for your home. I love the antiqued look that is Instagram’s signature.

2. These giraffe chairs are amazing! The color is beautiful and they’d be so fun to mix into a more traditional living room setting. They would definitely be a conversation piece!

3. I’ve admitted my love for anything monogrammed and these little bud vases took my obsession to a whole new level. Must have.

4. I saw this on Pinterest and laughed out loud! It’s so true!

Four Things Friday

Happy Friday to y’all! What are your plans for the weekend? Some of my good friends and I are hosting a baby shower for one of our longtime friends…I can’t wait to share pictures of the decor with y’all! I’ve been carefully planning and plotting for the past two months to make sure everything looks perfect.

Here are some things I’m loving from around the Web…

1. My little brothers and I always made blanket forts around our home when we were younger. Ours never looked this good, though!

2. This DIY tutorial looks so easy to do! Goodness, what would the world be like without spray paint?

3. This bed looks so neat, but what if you move a lot when you sleep? Makes me nervous!

4. I was recently shopping at Target and saw these amazing bedding items. I think it’s time to do a bedding overhaul for me! Excuse the black bands…I couldn’t move them out of the way without undoing the entire packaging!

Four Things Friday

It’s the weekend…woohoo! What plans do you have? I’m running a 5K in the morning (running at 7:30 am…crazy!) I’m hoping that since I’ll be up so early, I’ll hit some garage sales for some furniture.

Here are some things I’m loving from around the Web…

1. I love this idea of spray painting a wire trash can to use as a side table. The aqua color is fantastic.

2. Last week, I wrote about flea markets. I often find mantles and doors at flea markets and wonder what I can do with them. This is a great tutorial on how to make a mantle into a headboard.

3. I want to run out right now and buy these lucite and brass bar stools.

4. An outdoor bed with chevron curtains? I die.

Four Things Friday

It’s finally Friday! Has this week felt like it’s been going by at the pace of a snail? It’s sure felt like that to me. I’m so excited to celebrate Cinco de Mayo, the Derby, and the wedding of my good friend this weekend! What will you be doing this weekend? Make sure to check out these fun things from around the Web…

1. I love anything with a monogram, so I’m dying over these DIY window treatments. I’m not great with a needle and thread, but I’m definitely willing to work on it if my window treatments turn out looking like these.

2. Whether it’s creating a tablescape or decorating a room, place mats and napkins often offer huge amounts of inspiration for me. This tutorial helps you make “simple-sew” pillows using place mats and linen napkins!

3. This is the raddest baby nursery I’ve ever seen. I love that the typical pinks, blues, greens, and yellows aren’t used at all. So glam.

4. Pillows can add so much to a room, and this display of pillows definitely proves that pillows pack a punch. Love the way they stand out!

The Big Reveal: Part Five

Finally, the Jazz Room! The record headboard is my favorite DIY project I’ve completed. It was so easy to do and looks spectacular, if I do say so myself! The dresser and mirror took forever to complete, but I’m glad I stuck with it because it really adds a lot to the room.
