I’ve been telling y’all for a few weeks that my childhood friends and I were going to be hosting a baby shower for our best friend, Savana. She’s expecting a baby girl in the fall and we couldn’t be more excited to have a new addition to our group of ladies!
I volunteered to do the decorations for the shower, and I quickly began looking for photos to use as inspiration when decorating. I wanted it to be a sophisticated and elegant baby shower using various shades of pink. I found this picture on Pinterest and knew I had to replicate it somehow.
I found the striped pink straws on Etsy and, since we were having round tables instead of long banquet tables, I decided to use pink and white striped table runners rather than place mats. I purchased the pink and white polka dot fabric from JoAnn Fabrics and had a friend of mine make them into napkins.
The pewter bud vases were purchased at Goodwill (13 for $36.00…a steal for pewter!) and I bought carnations, cut them down, and bunched them together to look like one large flower (and there was a special on carnations…3 bouquets for $12.00!) The lanterns were borrowed from a good friend who used them in her wedding and had purchased them at IKEA for $6.50 a piece.
The pink chevron cards contained a little letter that guests could fill out to write a cute note to Savana, her husband, Kyle, and the baby. Our friend, Katy, took pictures of us with chalkboard messages to the baby (my fellow hostesses and I had, “Call us when you miss curfew!”) that will be compiled into a scrapbook for the new baby. It was such a cute idea and I told Katy I’m going to keep that idea in mind for any future baby showers I host.
I’m so thrilled with the way it turned out! It was a beautiful day and so special to celebrate Savana, Kyle, and their baby girl!
