B is for Backsplash

Okay, readers, honest question: Do you know what the tile, slate, or wall underneath your kitchen cabinets is called? If you don’t, it’s okay! I didn’t know it was known as “backsplash” until a few years ago.

Backsplash can add so much personality to a kitchen. I cannot cook to save my life (I  once blew up a Lean Cuisine in my microwave in college…who knew that was even possible?), but I cannot wait to pick out a fun backsplash for my kitchen space. I’ve documented my love of subway tiles, but I think a mirrored backsplash would be a great way to bring light into a small kitchen area.

It’s important to pick a material that not only looks great and blends with the rest of your kitchen design, but is also easy to clean (like if spaghetti sauce explodes…that’s also happened to me). I found great backsplash ideas from the experts at HGTV…check them out here!
